Equipment Rentals in Jersey, GA

Jersey is small enough that the equipment project usually isn't happening on a commercial jobsite in the middle of town. More often, it's happening down a driveway, behind a house, beside a barn, along a fence line, or on acreage outside the developed part of the community.

That's where having the right machine for a short period can make more sense than trying to accomplish heavy property work with a tractor, pickup, or hand tools.

Cornerstone Equipment Rentals provides jobsite delivery to Jersey and the surrounding Walton County area.

The Project Nobody Sees From the Road

Some of the biggest property projects are nearly invisible from the highway.

Maybe you've got an old pond access road that hasn't been used in years.

Maybe the back five acres are still accessible, but only if you don't mind scratching your truck on limbs the entire way.

Maybe a drainage ditch has gradually filled with sediment.

Or perhaps an old fence, fallen trees, and brush have turned one portion of the property into an area you simply stopped using.

The first objective isn't necessarily to build anything.

It's to get that part of the property usable again.

Reclaim the Access First

Before gravel can be spread or drainage repaired, the machine has to reach the work area.

For brush, limbs, and irregular debris, our Kubota SVL65-2 skid steer can be equipped with a 72-inch grapple bucket.

Instead of simply pushing debris ahead of the machine, the grapple allows material to be grabbed, carried, and placed elsewhere.

If the obstruction is a larger log, rock, or other heavy object, our JCB 85Z-1 excavator adds a different capability.

Its hydraulic thumb works with the bucket to grip bulky material that can't simply be scooped.

Then Find Out Why the Road Went Bad

Once an old access road is reopened, the damage becomes easier to see.

One section may have deep ruts.

Another may have lost most of its gravel.

Farther down, water may have cut directly across the road.

Don't automatically start by covering everything with new stone.

If water created the damage, determine where that water should have gone.

The JCB excavator can clean and reshape drainage areas and perform heavier excavation. For suitable narrower trenching work, the 48-inch skid steer trencher provides another option.

Only after the drainage is working does it make sense to put substantial effort into the road surface.

Now Bring the Road Back

With the water problem addressed, the skid steer can shift from cleanup to road work.

The 72-inch smooth bucket can move gravel, fill low areas, redistribute loose aggregate, and work sections of the drive.

For harder material or areas requiring more aggressive ground engagement, the 72-inch toothed bucket provides another choice.

This is one reason we recommend thinking about the whole property project before choosing attachments. The same skid steer that opened the road with a grapple can be reconfigured for the next stage instead of bringing in another power unit.

What Are You Reopening the Property For?

Once access is restored, the original project can finally begin.

Maybe you're putting up fencing.

Maybe you're adding a gate.

Maybe you're preparing an area for a storage building.

Maybe you simply want regular access to acreage that has been difficult to reach.

If fencing is next, our skid steer auger can be paired with 8-inch, 12-inch, or 16-inch bits.

If you're building a shop, barn, or storage structure, our 48-inch pallet forks can move suitable palletized or properly secured material around an accessible site.

One property-improvement project can therefore move from grapple → bucket → auger → forks while keeping the same skid steer.

Some Jobs Need More Excavator Than Skid Steer

The skid steer is versatile, but it isn't the answer to every job.

A larger drainage excavation, deep digging, substantial stump or rock work, or handling large timber may call for the JCB.

The JCB 85Z-1 weighs approximately 18,000 pounds and is equipped with a 36-inch toothed bucket and hydraulic thumb.

Its zero-tail-swing design also means the rear of the upper structure stays within a much tighter working envelope than a conventional excavator—useful when a project is around an existing house, barn, driveway, fence, or other improvement.

When the Project Produces a Pile Bigger Than the Project

Reclaiming an overgrown portion of property can generate a surprising amount of material.

If appropriate debris needs to leave the site, our 7×16 dump trailer provides 4-foot sides, tandem axles, a 14,000-lb GVWR, and hydraulic dumping.

It can also be useful for appropriate loads of dirt, gravel, landscaping material, and construction cleanup.

That gives you an alternative to finishing a cleanup project with one enormous pile pushed into the corner of the property.

Know the Rules Before the Machine Arrives

Jersey is in Walton County, and construction, land disturbance, zoning, and permitting requirements can vary depending on the project and exact property location.

Walton County Planning & Development provides information covering planning and zoning, building permits, land-disturbance applications, and related development requirements.

If your property is inside Jersey's municipal limits, verify whether additional town requirements apply.

And before any excavation, trenching, or augering, have underground utilities properly located.

Rural Delivery Requires a Little More Information

When you're arranging delivery to acreage, tell us where the equipment actually needs to go.

A street address may lead to the mailbox while the project is another half-mile down a private drive.

Let us know about narrow entrances, gates, low limbs, soft ground, steep grades, limited turnaround space, or other conditions that could affect delivery and unloading.

Cornerstone Equipment Rentals provides jobsite delivery to Jersey and the surrounding Walton County area, subject to equipment and delivery availability.

Put the Unused Part of Your Property Back to Work

If part of your property has become difficult to reach or maintain, the project doesn't necessarily require clearing everything and starting over.

Sometimes the solution is much more targeted:

Open the access. Fix the drainage. Repair the road. Clean the problem areas. Then make the property useful again.
